Deviation Actions

Just a couple of things I'd like to bring up.
One, while we're getting a fantastic number of submissions, there seems to be very little activity going on in the group otherwise. This bothers me, as I consider us a bit of a mini-family who formed this group as an opportunity to be heard and communicate with others going through similar problems and issues.

It's great to see so many submissions, but remember our good old icon/devID contest? Well, we got one submission for a devID. And it was submitted after the end of the contest as well. It was good to even get an entry, but it saddens me that this person was the only one who actually got involved in the contest, as :iconhaphazardhostile: and I were hoping to get you guys all excited and involved on this one. As it is, we still have the old icon and I'm working on finding time to submit the new devID - though if anyone has any more entries, so we can do some actual judging, that'd be great.

It's not too hard to get involved - you can submit art, suggest favourites, let us know of any groups we should affiliate with or deviants who may need our help or look like good Sufferers-Army role models.
And if we hold contests, we'd LOVE for you to get involved! We hold contests for that very reason, and simple promises of "oh I might submit something later" don't really count. We love to see ARTWORK! We want to be proud of all your beautiful art and showcase your talent. We want you to get involved and excited and happy to be a part of our humble little group. We created this group for a reason, and we'd love to see that purpose come to life.

Number two - one thing I really need to get straight.
Ok, it may be very VERY misleading that we have a My Chemical Romance icon (hence why I wanted to change it, also hence the contest), and yes, both :iconhaphazardhostile: and I are fans of MCR. We love MCR and they are a band who have changed our lives and, yes, also in part inspired this group.
But I REALLY need to get this straight - WE ARE NOT A MYCHEMICALROMANCE GROUP. It's fantastic if you're a fan, and we have no problem with that (obviously). Also, if your art is MCR-related but ALSO follows the Sufferers-Army theme, then that's fine. We're great with that, we love our fellow fans and are proud for you to be active members of our little group.
But we're getting a lot of MCR fanart, and while it's great and beautiful and we love it, we feel it to be more appropriate for MCR groups who are formed for MCR fanart. If you have MCR fanart, why not submit it to a MCR group?
I just don't think it really follows the Sufferers-Army theme, a lot of it. It's not specific to our group and what our group has been made for, and I'd like you guys to keep that in mind next time you're submitting fanart.
We will accept fanart that follows a suffering/getting over suffering theme, because that is relevant to our group. But please keep in mind that we are not a MCR group and so MCR fanart is not really relevant to us.
You have a great picture of Gerard Way that you're proud of, that's fine. Comment us and we'll favourite it, that's all well and good. But please don't submit it to our group if it has no real suffering theme to it, if it's just a portrait or something like that, as it is then irrelevant to our group.

We will have to discuss it, and we'll see what you think before we do anything, but we're thinking of taking away any non-Sufferers-Army related artwork from the gallery. It's not something we exactly relish doing, and we don't mean to hurt your feelings or say you're not 'worthy' or something terrible like that - it's just that it's not exactly relevant to us.

However, any ongoing fanfics/etc that are still continuing may continue to be accepted, as they are unfinished projects and we hate things to be left unfinished.

We're sorry to those who submit a lot of MCR fanart, but it seems we're getting more fanart than relevant Sufferers-Army artwork at the moment, and we'd really love to be known for our real purpose, not as a MCR fan group or anything like that.

Thankyou for your love and support, and wishing you all well;

~lylt,

I just sent my join request so not technically a member yet. How do we find out about contests? If I could make a suggestion (bear with me bc it's kind of a weird one that just crapped into my mind) you might make a submission to your own group of a giant crayon drawing saying "join the fucking contest!" lol. That way we all see it. I'm in lots of groups -_- I get lots of mail to check so I forget to check front pages (I never check front pages). Anyway, excited to join. Like getting ppl's art in my mail. Then I don't find hate-art by doing keyword searches!
